I heard there was an animal-derived ingredient in toothpaste. Is this true? What is this ingredient and what brands don’t contain it (if this is true?)
Toothpaste?

yep, some toothpastes have animal ingredients. I forgot what the ingredient(s) were though. I do know, that Tom’s of Maine, JASON, and nature’s gate toothpastes are all vegan.

You are not suppose to eat toothpaste. I don’t think it has animal products in it. If you are afraid use baking soda as toothpaste.

Ya, toothpaste does have animal-derived ingredient in it. it is called Sensodyne. It uses animal (beef).
But there is a great website that lists vegan toothpastes!

Yup, it’s the glycerine. And what is difficult is that glycerine can come from animal or plant sources, so just looking at the ingredients doesn’t tell you what you need to know. There are a bunch of Colgate products that are animal product free, I believe.

A safe choice of toothpaste does not have animal-derived ingredients. Instead it contains natural ingredients from plants. Like Maximum Teeth Whitening – a whitening and antibacterial toothpaste.
